You maybe do not care about your own reputation points,but other people do care about your points. People reject to help or even agree with people who have low reputation (for example,a guy with low rep posted a funny video,and someone replied "I'd rather not check this because of his reputation"),because "he has low reputation so his posts aren't worthy". Let's just disable the rep feature.
