Jazz2 is the best game ever. Now, let's prove it.
GameFAQS is holding a spring contest. People can nominate their favorite games for each platform for voting. Us JJ2'ers must band together! Put JJ2 as your favorite DOS/Windows game!

MB refers to WC3, I suppose.

I'd vote, but there's no way I'm signing up for a message board account over there. WAY too many idiots for my taste.

Basically, that measn this "contest" is going to be dominated by younger "gamers" who like video RPGs better than anything in the the world, but suck at them and need a walkthrough for everything. Brilliant. I'm not going to worry too much about what they vote for as best. I know what games are good already.

Or people who make FAQs.

I said "dominated by", not "voted on by no one else but". The people that go to Game FAQs to get help FAR outnumber the people writing decent FAQs.

"Jazz2 is the best game ever."
No. |

Well, I think it's the best game ever.
Well, PC game, anyway.

I've registered there a long time ago, and people actually notice stuff. Snooz noticed I submitted cheats for Jedi Knight 3, and Trafton noticed I made a review for Gladiators of Rome (that game could not have an N/A rating. N/A is too high. It needed a 1.0).

What I meant to say is that JJ2 is the best PC game ever. And, well, it's too late now as the nominations for GFAQ's contest are over. This topic can be closed now.

I liked Jazz1 more than Jazz2, actually. It was a lot more entertaining and fun, Jazz2 just rather turned into a complete multiplayer sonic ripoff.

But alas I would not vote for this game. The first Legend of Zelda or Legend of Zelda: A Link To the Past gets my vote.

Okay, JJ2, quite simply sucks. The only reason I ever played it was custom tilesets, levels, and friends. No one I care about plays it anymore, but most of them have AIM, and are still around, (IceWing, Bartman, IceM@N, Falcon, CrazyR, stripe, etc.)
and without the people, and online play, it would be complete crap. and most of all, it sucks because I say so. ![]() be l33t be l33t be l33t be l33t be l33t be l33t be l33t be l33t be l33t |

JJ2... best game ever? More like one of the worst. Seriously here is a 2D game made in the 3D era. Not nessesarily a bad thing, I like 2D platformers, but JJ2 brings nothing revolutionary to the genre, in fact it takes quite a few steps back from JJ1. Let's take a look at what made JJ1 fun, for me at least, and compare it to JJ2:
First of all we have incredibly fast gun blazing action, you run and shoot like crazy; in JJ2 Jazz/Spaz/Lori moves considerably slower, the abilty to walk instead of run might seem like an advancement, but I think it kinda sucks, in JJ1 you were forced to charge full speed ahead through everything, in edition to that the new smarter enemies like the bees and ghosts slow you down because you have to STOP and jump around to shoot them, this isn't challenging, its just a pain in the a**. The ammount of ammo you can hold is also greatly reduced which makes the game less of a shooting frenzey. OTher thing I liked about JJ1 was its outlandish and often down right wierd landscapes and music. JJ2's landscapes are pretty, no doubt about it, but they are so dull compared to JJ1's. Same goes for music, tis very nice, but much more conventional. Finally theres the plot, yes, the plot. Remember the cheesey little stills at the end of each episode in JJ1? Theres nothing in JJ2 except the very conclusive ending movie. Deven gets smashed by a rock and Jazz gets married. The developers knew that they had lost their touch and didnt plan on making a sequal. Yes there was JJ3 later, but it didn't ever ammount to much did it? I'm almost inclined to vote for JJ1 in this but you'd have to hold me at gunpoint |

What I miss in JJ2 about JJ1 are the ubercool 3D Bonus Games... I wonder, if the game developers were able to create 3D grpahics so nicely in 1994, why couldn't they create some better 3D graphics 4 years later in 1998? Maybe it takes away the good and old skool 2D gameplay of JJ2, but there could have been at least those 3D bonus games...
