With just around 300 or so on each side I was getting 1 SPF. With 1200 or so it was taking maybe ten seconds to do a single frame (I got bored and started cheating).

Hmm, got the evil map. Took a good half a minute for everybody to resurrect (1700 vs 1600ish).
Running a 2.26 ghz pentium M ;|. So yeah, it could be that there are too many generators.

One unit versus one unit? Yeah, it'd be possible.
In fact, I just made a very quick test map. The average battle time was around 4 seconds. Does that sound EXCITING to you?

What I woke up to this morning.
Just thought I'd share. It was doing one frame every 10 seconds or so. Quite a nice pattern it produced, I wish I knew what caused it.

I would assume the formations of Faws would be Faws that were blown away from that Rad by ring spells, and killed in the process.

It's like in the Neo vs Smith in Reloaded, except the Faws died.

My only guess is that one Rad was extremely lucky and managed to level up to the point where any Faw that was generated would get killed easily by what Risp makes me assume are called ring spells. Why there are 3000 something Faws when I don't see more than 10 alive on the screen is beyond me.

I might have it figured out. That little black spot on the left side is a Rad. If all the opponents are outside the screen, the units by default walk towards the middle. Being off the borders for too long also kills a unit, however. More likely than not that Rad is just the right amount off the screen that the Faws can't see him but he isn't taking damage. So, he probably spent the whole night shooting Faws one-by-one while they all clumped in the middle (that pile in the middle evidently consists of 3000). The wave pattern is from when he levelled up, increasing how far they went.
So, considering it was one invisible person shooting at three thousand enemies, the battle probably never would have been won. Though considering he had been safely sniping for what was probably several hours, he had likely leveled to God-like status by then. Risp made that map. I never liked it much.

Blaming it on me, then? That kind of thing could have happened on any map, with the right string of amazing coincidences.

Out of curosity, what are the different spells and levels for the characters?
|
Apr 16, 2006, 09:01 AM | |
You have the projectile attack spell, which is always available and costs 80 energy. It's the little fireballs and blasts of lightning and such you see flying around everywhere.
At level 3 and above, units can use the ring spell and the strike spell. The ring spell costs 90 energy, to hurt all nearby people and knock them all away. The strike spell calls down a pillar of fire/lightning bolt to hurt the enemy and lower his stats, also at the cost of 90 energy. For both of these spells, the caster is at the center of a pillar of light while casting. As for level powers... every time a unit gets a level it gets a glowing aura thing. As it progresses these get larger and deeper in color, which is why powerful rads glow black and powerful faws have a faint golden glow. Once a unit is level 3 or higher, it begins to create explosions whenever it lands melee attacks. These explosions are merely graphical. When a unit gains level 4 and any level past level 4, it instantly casts a ring spell for free (to keep high level units in heavy melees from being killed instantly). Theoretically there is no limit to the level a character can get, but there are practical limits. There aren't any special powers past level 4 or so that I remember.

And about half the units can only cast normal projectile spells once they reach Level 2.
