There is the problem that the US alone is like, bigger than all of Europe.
What seperates the Teh Broadway Part and Teh Arr Let's shoot some indians part?

Don't ask me. I just thought up some stupid names. Feel free to copy and paste the list as I said and add your own name to it and change the names of the headers to North and South

- California (Southwest) - Kentucky (Southeast) - Maryland (Northeast) - Minnesota (Midwest) - New Jersey (Northeast) - New York (Northeast) - Ohio (Midwest) - Tennessee (Southeast) - Texas (South) - Washington (Northwest) - Wisconsin (Midwest) The problem I mostly see is that there are a lot of Jazzers coming from California, and less so from New Jersey, but still a lot. There is not much else out there other than California with many Jazzers, except for Washington; Oregon and Arizona have very few, and the Rocky Mountain states have nearly none. Here are states with a lesser number, but still some: - Alabama (Southeast) - Arizona (Southwest) - Delaware (Northeast) - Florida (Southeast) - Georgia (Southeast) - Idaho (Northwest) - Illinois (Midwest) - Kansas (Midwest) - Louisiana (South) - Maine (Northeast) - Massachusetts (Northeast) - Michigan (Midwest) - Nebraska (Midwest) - New Hampshire (Northeast) - New Mexico (Southwest) - North Carolina (East) - Pennsylvania (Northeast) - Virginia (East) Which leaves the following states with very few: - Alaska (Completely unconnected) - Arkansas (Midwest) - Colorado (Rocky Mountains) - Connecticut (Northeast) - Hawaii (Completely unconnected) - Indiana (Midwest) - Iowa (Midwest) - Mississippi (South) - Missouri (Midwest) - Montana (Rocky Mountains) - Nevada (Rocky Mountains) - North Carolina (East) - North Dakota (North) - Oklahoma (South) - Rhode Island (Northeast) - South Carolina (East) - Utah (Rocky Mountains) - Vermont (Northeast) - West Virginia (East) Basically, the thing is that most of the people in the JJ2 community live east of the Mississippi, but there are a lot of people out west in California, and less notably Washington and the southwest. It is likely that most of the players in the midwest would go to the eastern meeting if it was somewhere like New Jersey, while those in Texas might go either way. Jazz 2 players around Vancouver would definitely go to the west one, while those around Toronto, probably east. There are more Jazz 2 players overall in the east and, all things considered, the west meeting in the Rocky Mountains areas to accomidate the midwesterners is not necessarily a great idea. The Rocky Mountains are not exactly highly populated. The other question is where to meet for the westerners? San Francisco, California might end up being a good midpoint. The easterners might meet somewhere like New York City. EDIT: Having North and South would be sort of odd...if northwesterners had to go to the northeast it would be more driving because the U.S. is longer than it is tall. Besides, the midpoint for northerners would be *shudder* North Dakota or so, and southerners would be *shudder* around Texas... ~ Traft |

I think grouping all the Canadians together doesn't make sense. The distance between western and eastern Canada is greater than the distance between western and eastern US.
Here's some more Canadians though: URJazz (British Columbia) Iam Canadian (Alberta) Kaven (Alberta) And I believe Ice M A N lives in Nova Scotia.

One of us has to put these all on a map; a nice visual representation.
Anyone ever notice none of the smilies in the "buddy" icon are smiling?

I'll organize JJM Central. We will be meeting at Elitch Gardens in downtown Denver.
Maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but I would do it. Colorado anyone? Ooh... I might be able to get Noogy to come. I just have to find a time to ask him.

I took the list Trafton made,
Here's what I came up with: ![]() I don't know where exactly people are within some states, so those I just placed somewhere in the middle. You see this especially in Canada. :P (Those people in middle of Canada are the unlocated ones.) I'll probably continue to update this image as I get more information.

I'm the only Jazzer in Louisiana...hehe, I feel special. Or rather, really really lame.
Anyway, this would be really really really great if it could happen. Like, REALLY. I personally would find it easier to go to someplace in the Northeast but like I said, I'm the only one in Lousiana anyway. Hey, we should just plan everyone come here because then it would be equally hard and difficult for everyone, well...except me. The map idea was a good idea Mono. Rockin'.

The map was a pretty generic idea. I had thought of making this a few times before. You just happened to mention it in this thread, Radium. The same thread that gave me a good listing of where everybody is.
If someone wants to find me a better map, feel free. :P I was just looking for something mostly plain and clean so I could draw on it.

A couple more for your list...
Admael (Midwest/Eastern USA, last time I checked) Axie (Canada) I don't know everyone in the community particularly well, so that's about all the other names I can provide you with. And just to let you know... Fresno is not really that "south", seeing that I passed *somewhat* close to there recently. Hey, whatever floats your boat. All hail the, ah, EAST COAST MIDDLE CALIFORNIANS! ;-P As far as a possible USWest convention, my parent(s) and I could most likely help a lot with organizing one in my area (San Francisco, preferably), even if they have never heard of half of you folks. However, the chances of me attending the convention are somewhat low, because I am rather reclusive and mostly unavailable besides the fact that the only people I would actually be interested in seeing are PiZZa, Trafton, and Nova. Anyway, whatever. Good times. ~evilvlek edit: Grammar. What the heck happened to my grammar? ;-) |

It's nearly impossible to have everyone come to one meeting, but what if there were several meetings in different areas at the same time? Then we could have webcams and stuff to make it seem all together.

Labratkid, autism is typically not something that requires restraint among high-functioning autistics. Being that Bjarni has learned a foreign language and speaks fluently, one would assume that he would be fairly high-functioning. As such, it is doubtful that he would require such restraint; mostly that only applies to profoundly autistic people.
